Saw them play at Double Door (around the same time I saw Liz Phair play the first time...) Great show.

But I agree with knowing how to talk about "celebrities". Ron Schueler (former GM of the White Sox) had a daughter who played basketball for DePaul. I'd run into him in the bar at Alumni Hall at halftime all the time, and if people mentioned his day job, he'd tune them out. I'd talk about his daughter's game, and he'd be the most charming person ever. After the "White Flag" trade (where he traded away some of the top players and conceded the conference to another team, people were ripping him across the city. However, my mom and I both thought it was the right thing to do. So...after one of the games, I said, "Hey, Mr. Schueler, I know you don't like to talk about work, but I think the trade was the right thing, and so does my family. At least some fans agree with what you did, and I just wanted to let you know..." [Or something along those lines.] He didn't reply, but did give me a nod.
